The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office has arrested a male juvenile for having a firearm in his possession while on a school campus, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

A 13-year-old male eighth grade student at a St. Bernard Parish public middle school was booked Friday, May 5 at the St. Bernard Parish Juvenile Detention Center with carrying a firearm or dangerous weapon by a student on school property, illegal possession of a stolen firearm and terrorizing.

Shortly before 11 a.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, deputies responded to a call from school administrators about a student at the school who was found to be in possession of a weapon while on campus.
