SBSO BOOKS MAN ON BURGLARY AND SEXUAL BATTERY CHARGES

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on several charges after he physically assaulted a woman and burglarized her Chalmette home Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Jeremy Dillion, 38, of the 2800 block of Decomine Drive in Chalmette, was booked with aggravated burglary, second degree aggravated sexual battery, second degree kidnapping, theft, and flight from an officer.

On Tuesday, June 21, shortly after 2 p.m., Sheriff Pohmann said, deputies with the Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division responded to a call for service in reference to an intruder at a residence in the 2500 block of Delille Street in Chalmette.

While en route to the call, deputies saw a suspect just one block away from the incident location who fit the same description given by the victim. The suspect, later identified as Dillion, fled as deputies approached, but was apprehended shortly after behind a nearby business.

A criminal history check was conducted on Dillion which revealed he has an extensive criminal record, including several prior arrests and convictions for things such as robbery, burglary, and theft.

Dillion was transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison where he was booked on the above charges.
