SBSO ARRESTS WOMAN IN CONNECTION WITH MERAUX STABBING
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office has arrested a woman in connection with a stabbing that occurred in Meraux on Sunday, May 7, 2023, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Trebrekiante Wickem, 27, of the 3000 block of Daniel Drive in Violet, was booked Monday, May 15, 2023 with attempted second degree murder.
Shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday, May 7, Sheriff Pohlmann said, deputies responded to a call for service in reference to a disturbance in a parking lot located in the 4100 block of Mistrot Drive in Meraux.
When deputies arrived on the scene they learned a fight had broken out between several individuals and one of the females involved stabbed another female during the incident.
The female victim was transported to an area hospital to be treated for her injuries.
During the course of the investigation, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau determined Wickem stabbed the female victim several times during the altercation, and fled the scene before deputies arrived.
An arrest warrant was issued for Wickem and she was taken into custody Monday, May 15.
Sheriff Pohlmann said this was an isolated incident involving a group of women who were acquaintances.
