SBSO ARRESTS WOMAN IN CONNECTION WITH ARABI SHOOTING

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman in connection with a shooting that occurred this evening in Arabi, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Fredericka Lowe, 29, of the 3800 block of Jupiter Drive in Chalmette, was booked with attempted second degree murder.

On Friday, Dec. 30, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division deputies responded to a call for service in the 7900 block of West Judge Perez Drive in Arabi in reference to a female being shot.

When deputies arrived on the scene they came into contact with an adult female victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip/buttocks area.

The female victim was transported to an area hospital to be treated for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries at this time.

During the course of the investigation, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau discovered Lowe and the female victim were traveling in a vehicle heading west on Judge Perez Drive when an argument ensued between them.

Detectives learned when the vehicle came to a stop in the 7900 block of West Judge Perez both parties exited the vehicle and Lowe brandished a weapon and fired one round, striking the victim.

Sheriff Pohlmann said this was an isolated incident and no one else was injured.
