SBSO ARRESTS TWO ON NARCOTICS CHARGES, SEIZES WEAPON

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested two men on narcotics charges and seized a firearm following an investigation conducted by the Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit and the Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Tyron Enclarde, 27, of the 2500 block of Caluda Lane in Violet, was booked with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine/fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute Tapentadol, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of resisting an officer.

Marquel Canty, 28, of the 2200 block of West Christie Drive in Poydras, was booked with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and headlamps required.

During the course of the investigation, deputies also recovered a Ruger .40 caliber firearm from Canty’s possession.

A criminal history background check on Canty revealed he has a prior felony conviction.

Sheriff Pohlmann reminds residents to call the Sheriff’s Office narcotics hotline at (504) 271-DOPE or 3673 to report suspected illegal drug activity in St. Bernard Parish. Callers can remain anonymous, and all calls will be acted upon.
