SBSO ARRESTS TWO MEN ON DRUG, STOLEN VEHICLE, SWITCHED LICENSE PLATE CHARGES
The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested two men on various narcotics charges, as well as charges involving a stolen vehicle and switched license plates, following an investigation conducted by the Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
➡️Kordell Moore, 32, of the 2400 block of Colonial Boulevard in Violet, was booked July 15 with switched license plate, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of marijuana, possession of heroin, possession of fentanyl, possession of MDMA (Ecstasy), possession of Tapentadol, possession of Tramadol, motor vehicle alteration, destruction or alteration of a VIN, and an outstanding bench warrant.
➡️Mark Onidas, 23, of the 1900 block of Goodwill Street in Poydras, was booked July 16 with switched license plate, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute Tapentadol, possession with intent to distribute heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Based on information indicating Moore was involved in illegal drug activity in St. Bernard Parish, Narcotics Unit agents initiated an investigation.
During the investigation, agents came into contact with Moore while he was driving a silver GMC Sierra pickup truck that had been reported stolen in New Orleans. Agents also discovered the truck Moore was driving had been altered with fraudulent VIN stickers and switched license plates in an apparent attempt to conceal the vehicle’s identity.
A criminal history check revealed Moore was out on bond on narcotics, firearms and stolen vehicle charges in New Orleans and was wearing a GPS ankle monitor. Agents also learned he had an outstanding St. Bernard Parish bench warrant for a traffic violation.
Moore was taken into custody without incident and booked into the St. Bernard Parish Correctional Facility. He is being held on a $221,550 bond.
As the investigation continued, agents identified Onidas as being involved in illegal drug activity as well. They subsequently located him driving a white Buick SUV displaying a switched license plate.
