SBSO ARRESTS TWO IN CONNECTION WITH ARMED ROBBERY
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a man and woman in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at a Violet residence, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Deshawn Spencer, 24, of the 2100 block of Allo Mumphrey Drive in Violet, was booked with armed robbery-use of a firearm, refusal to give name/identification, possession of marijuana, and on an outstanding bench warrant for aggravated second degree battery.
Perrion Bailey, 19, of the 2100 block of Allo Mumphrey Drive in Violet, was booked with principal to armed robbery.
On Jan. 19, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies responded to a call for service regarding an armed robbery in the 2900 block of Stacie Drive in Violet.
Upon arrival, deputies were met by the victim, who reported that three individuals known to him entered his home. The victim said one of the suspects brandished a firearm and demanded money before the suspects fled the scene in a silver Nissan Maxima.
During the course of the investigation, Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division deputies and detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau were able to identify Spencer and Bailey as suspects.
Arrest warrants were issued for both Spencer and Bailey and they were taken into custody by members of the Special Operations Division on Jan. 22.
Cody Jones, 43, of the 2100 block of Allo Mumphrey Drive in Violet, was at the residence at the time of the arrests and also was taken into custody and booked on an unrelated outstanding bench warrant for contributing to the delinquency of minors.
Sheriff Pohlmann said this was an isolated incident between acquaintances and no one was injured. The investigation is ongoing, he said.
