SBSO ARRESTS TWO IN CONNECTION WITH AGGRAVATED BURGLARY

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a man and woman in connection with an aggravated burglary that recently occurred at a St. Bernard residence, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Steve Minyard, 38, of the 2300 block of Guillot Drive in St. Bernard, was booked with aggravated burglary and possession of heroin and fentanyl.

Casey Landry, 27, also of the 2300 block of Guillot Drive in St. Bernard, was booked with aggravated burglary.

On Jan. 10, 2026, at approximately 10 p.m., Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division deputies responded to a call for service regarding an aggravated burglary in the 2000 block of Nehlig Lane in Toca.

Upon arrival, deputies were met by the victim, who reported that two individuals known to him entered his home, physically attacked him and stole cash and prescription medication from him before fleeing the scene.

During the course of the investigation, deputies were able to identify Minyard and Landry as suspects.

Arrest warrants were issued for both and they each were taken into custody by members of the Special Operations Division on Jan. 29.

Charles Johnson, 34, of the 2300 block of Guillot Drive in St. Bernard, also was at the residence at the time of the arrests and was taken into custody and booked with possession of marijuana.

Sheriff Pohlmann said this was an isolated incident between acquaintances.
