SBSO ARRESTS TWO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AFTER INCIDENT ON CAMPUS

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested two 15-year-old male juveniles following an incident that occurred Friday on a school campus in Chalmette, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

On Friday, Sept. 16, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, Chalmette High School resource officers responded to a report of a fight involving two students in a classroom on campus at 1100 E. Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette.

When deputies arrived on the scene they learned the two 15-year-old male students were involved in an altercation during which a teacher who was attempting to break up the fight was struck in the face and pushed to the ground.

Following an investigation by the Special Investigations Division, both students were booked with battery of a school teacher.
