SBSO ARRESTS THREE IN COPPER WIRE THEFT INVESTIGATION, SEEKS TWO MORE SUSPECTS
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office has arrested three individuals and issued arrest warrants for two others in connection with a series of copper wire thefts across St. Bernard Parish, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Gregory Bondi, 29, of the 3800 block of Gallo Drive in Chalmette; Luis Sloan, 25, of the 100 block of West Phillip Court in Chalmette; and Zoe Zanca, 24, of the 100 block of West Phillip Court in Chalmette, were each booked with eight counts of felony theft.
Zanca also was booked with eight counts of felony theft. Zanca also was booked on a previous outstanding warrant from the New Orleans Police Department for possession of a stolen vehicle.
In addition, arrest warrants in connection with the case have been issued for Logan Neumeyer, 25, of the 400 block of Norton Avenue in Arabi, and Keith McKinnis, 32, of the 2500 block of St. Matthew Circle in Violet.
Over the past several months, Sheriff Pohlmann said, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau have been investigating numerous copper wire thefts that have occurred throughout the parish, impacting two national cellular and internet service providers.
Detectives were able to identify the suspects through video surveillance.
To date, the damages in these cases alone are estimated to have caused several thousand dollars in damages. Sheriff Pohlmann said the investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests may be made.
