The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a New Orleans man wanted by Florida officials following a joint investigation by the Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Special Investigations Division, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Warren Toledano, III, 54, of the 2900 block of St. Anthony Avenue in New Orleans, was booked on fugitive warrant out of Okaloosa County, Florida for armed robbery.

On Feb. 10, Sheriff Pohlmann said, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau received information from the Crestview Police Department in Florida that Toledano, a suspect wanted for an armed robbery that occurred in Okaloosa County, Florida, was believed to be at a residence in Chalmette.

At approximately 5 p.m., the Sheriff said, agents with the Special Investigations Division performed a traffic stop on a vehicle believed to be driven by Toledano near the intersection of West St. Avide and Fenelon streets in Chalmette.

Toledano was positively identified and taken into custody without incident, the Sheriff said.

A criminal history check was conducted on Toledano which revealed he is currently on federal probation for bank robbery in Louisiana.

He was transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked on the above charges, and is currently awaiting extradition to Okaloosa County.
