SBSO ARRESTS NEW ORLEANS MAN WANTED BY MULTIPLE AGENCIES
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a New Orleans man wanted by several outside law enforcement agencies following an investigation conducted by the Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Tyree King, 33, of 700 block of Roman Street in New Orleans, was booked with illegal carrying of a firearm, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a machine gun, possession of crack cocaine, and on outstanding warrants out of Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish and Probation and Parole.
Narcotics Unit agents opened an investigation after obtaining information that King was staying with a relative in Chalmette in an attempt to evade law enforcement due to being wanted by the New Orleans Police Department for armed robbery and Probation and Parole for a parole violation.
During the course of the investigation agents recovered crack cocaine and a Glock 26 .9mm with a switch which is used to turn it into a fully automatic weapon (machine gun).
A criminal history check was conducted on King which revealed he also was wanted by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for telephone harassment/obscene phone calls and stalking.
King was taken into custody without further incident and transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked on the above charges.
