SBSO ARRESTS MAN WANTED BY NOPD

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a man wanted by the New Orleans Police Department for armed robbery, and seized a large amount of narcotics and a firearm, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Yawn Dubose, 35, of the 2600 block of Plaza Drive in Chalmette, was booked June 18 with possession with the intent to distribute MDMA (Ecstasy), fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, Tapentadol and marijuana; possession of marijuana THC resin sugar and psilocybin mushrooms; proceeds involving drug transactions; possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance; possession of a controlled dangerous substance while in the presence of persons under 17 years of age; and drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Pohlmann said the investigation was a combined effort between SBSO’s Criminal Investigations Bureau detectives, Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit agents and Special Operations Division SWAT team, along with the New Orleans Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Violent Crimes Task Force and Louisiana State Police.

During the course of the investigation, $3,517.87 in cash and a Taurus TH9 firearm also was recovered.

Dubose was transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked on the above charges. His bond has been set at $395,000.
