SBSO ARRESTS MAN ON NARCOTICS, WEAPONS CHARGES

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on narcotics and weapons charges following an investigation conducted by the Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

O’Neil Davis, 33, of the 4500 block of Colony Drive in Meraux, was booked with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile/person under 17, possession of drug paraphernalia, child passenger not restrained, proceeds from drug transactions, fugitive warrant, 4 bench warrants and window tint.

During the course of the investigation, SID agents also recovered several evidentiary items, including a large amount of crack cocaine/fentanyl, a Glock 9mm listed by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office as stolen, four (4) AR-style rifles, an AR-style receiver, sandwich bags, a digital scale, ammunition and $3,309 in cash.

A criminal background check was conducted on Davis which revealed he has several active warrants out of the New Orleans Police Department for aggravated criminal damage to property, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities felony, aggravated assault with a firearm, and convicted felon prohibited from possessing a firearm. He also was found to have four active bench warrants out of St. Bernard Parish.

Based on the listed information, Davis was taken into custody and transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked on the above charges.
