SBSO ARRESTS MAN FOR BURGLARIZING ARABI BUSINESS WHERE HE USED TO WORK
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a Chalmette man for burglarizing an Arabi business where he was previously employed, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Michael Totorico, 36, of the 1900 block of Andres Drive in Chalmette, was booked with simple burglary and on an outstanding bench warrant for a traffic violation.
On Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division deputies responded to a report of an overnight burglary that occurred at a business in the 6600 block of West Judge Perez Drive.
During the course of the investigation, Patrol deputies identified Totorico, a former employee of the business, as the suspect through video surveillance and victim statements.
After Totorico was identified, a warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was taken into custody on Wednesday, Jan. 7.
Deputies were also able to recover property linked to the burglary in Totorico’s possession.
