On Monday, Feb. 26, shortly before 3 p.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, deputies with the Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division attempted to make a traffic stop on a black Infiniti near the corner of West Judge Perez Drive and Old Hickory Drive in Chalmette.
After deputies successfully deployed spike strips at the parish line in an effort to stop the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Walker, refused to stop. The vehicle eventually halted after colliding with another vehicle near Basin Street and Bienville Avenue in New Orleans, and crashing into two parked cars.
Once the vehicle came to a stop, Walker and Dylan Duval fled on foot, but were quickly apprehended by deputies. The other three occupants, Marrero, Carroll and Lisa Duval, were taken into custody without incident.
During the course of the investigation, deputies recovered a Glock 23 .40 Caliber handgun reported by the Gretna Police Department as stolen, 12 individually packaged clear plastic bags each containing 29 grams of marijuana, a small amount of cocaine, clear plastic bags, a digital scale, and $1,795 in cash.
A criminal history check was conducted on all five subjects which revealed Walker has prior convictions for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and racketeering.
