SBSO ARRESTS CHALMETTE MAN: NARCOTICS AND WEAPONS OFFENSES, STOLEN VEHICLES, ALTERED VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a Chalmette man for various narcotics and weapons offenses, as well as stolen vehicles and altered vehicle identification numbers, following an investigation conducted by the Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Terry Baham Jr., 33, of the 3400 block of Dauterive Drive in Chalmette, was booked Oct. 5 with five counts of illegal possession of stolen things, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana/synthetics, possession with intent to distribute MDMA Ecstasy, possession with intent to distribute Oxycodone, drug paraphernalia, and three counts of motor vehicle alteration or removal of identifying numbers.
After obtaining information through an anonymous source that Baham was involved in illegal drug activity in St. Bernard, Narcotics Unit agents conducted an investigation during which they obtained a search warrant for his residence.
When agents executed the search warrant, along with assistance from the Slidell Police Department’s K9 Unit, they recovered 116.29 grams of heroin and fentanyl with a street value of $11,629; 77.04 grams of cocaine with a street value of $7,704; 112 marijuana THC cartridges with a street value of $5,600; 455.33 grams of marijuana with a street value of $3,106; 88 MDMA Ecstasy tablets with a street value of $2,200; 137 Oxycodone tablets with a street value of $1,370; and 51 packages of marijuana THC edibles with a street value of $1,020.
Digital scales, clear plastic packaging bags, and $1,237 in cash also were seized, along with a Beretta .9mm firearm, a Glock 27 .40 caliber firearm, an AK Pistol firearm, and an AR-15 firearm Sharps Brothers MDL Warthog confirmed as stolen out of Kenner.
In addition, the search also revealed several stolen vehicles on Baham’s property, including a Cadillac CTS listed as stolen out of St. Tammany and Parish, and two Ford F250s and a Chevrolet Camaro, all listed as stolen out of New Orleans.
Several other vehicles, some believed to be stolen and with altered identification numbers, also were seized along with multiple vehicle parts including trunks, hoods, and doors.
Baham was transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked on the above charges. His bond was set at $320,500.
The Louisiana State Police is assisting with this ongoing investigation, and additional charges may be added, Sheriff Pohlmann said.
