SBSO ARRESTS CHALMETTE MAN FOLLOWING DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a Chalmette man after he barricaded himself in his home following a domestic disturbance with his mother, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Lee White, 36, of the 1900 block of Seelos Court in Chalmette, was booked with domestic abuse battery and false imprisonment.
On Friday, Oct. 20, at approximately 9:20 a.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, Field Operation Bureau Patrol Division deputies responded to a call for service in reference to a domestic disturbance in the 1900 block of Seelos Court in Chalmette.
When Patrol Division deputies arrived on the scene they learned White had been involved in an altercation with his mother.
Following the incident with his mother, White barricaded himself inside his home and refused to come out or communicate with deputies for nearly two hours.
Shortly after members of the Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics or S.W.A.T. Team arrived on the scene they were able to safely remove White from his home.
A criminal history check was conducted on White which revealed he has an extensive criminal history including prior arrests for narcotics, burglary, domestic violence, simple and aggravated battery, simple criminal damage, violation of a restraining order and possession of stolen property.
It was also learned White has an outstanding warrant out of St. Bernard for second degree battery, and a bench warrant for resisting an officer, also out of St. Bernard. In addition, he has numerous outstanding warrants out of various other agencies.
Lee was transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked on the above charges.
