SBSO ARRESTS ARABI MAN ON NARCOTICS CHARGES

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested an Arabi man on various narcotics charges following an investigation by the Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Anthony Segari, 32, of the 200 block of Doerr Drive in Arabi, was booked with possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

After obtaining information from a reliable source that Segari was involved in illegal drug activity in St. Bernard Parish, Narcotics Unit agents opened an investigation.

During the course of the investigation, agents learned Segari was making illegal narcotics transactions while walking between his residence and a business in the 7600 block of West Judge Perez Drive in Arabi.

On Tuesday, Sept. 20, around 12:45 p.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, agents witnessed Segari make one of those hand-to-hand drug transactions and elected to conduct a pedestrian check on him in the 600 block of Rowley Boulevard in Arabi.

At the conclusion of the investigation, agents found Segari to be in possession of 21.3 grams of methamphetamine and fentanyl with an approximate street value of $2,100, 71.1 grams of marijuana with an approximate street value of $1,420, clear plastic bags and a digital scale.

Based on these findings, Segari was transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked on the above charges.

Sheriff Pohlmann reminds residents to call the Sheriff’s Office narcotics hotline at (504) 271-DOPE or 3673 to report suspected illegal drug activity in St. Bernard Parish. Callers can remain anonymous, and all calls will be acted upon.
