SBSO ANNOUNCES ROAD CLOSURES
St. Bernard Sheriff James Pohlmann would like to inform residents of the following road closures associated with the tornado that moved through Arabi around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
The Sheriff said St. Bernard Highway is fully closed, both eastbound and westbound lanes, from Rowley Boulevard to the Orleans parish line due to heavy debris and downed power lines.
Residents needing to leave the parish for work, school or other business will be able to exit the parish via westbound Judge Perez Drive, beginning at approximately 6:30 a.m., or via Paris Road.
The only entrance point into the parish will be Paris Road until further notice.
All eastbound lanes into St. Bernard Parish via both St. Claude Avenue and Judge Perez Drive will be fully shut down until further notice.
The Sheriff said residents are urged for their own safety to not move or go around barricades.
