The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office has just received confirmation from its service provider that repairs have successfully been completed to its 911 emergency and (504) 271-2501 non-emergency telephone lines and they are both now fully operational and back online.

St. Bernard Parish residents can call 911 for emergencies and (504) 271-2501 for non-emergency calls for service.

On Monday, May 16, around 10 p.m., the 911 Communications Center began experiencing issues with the telephone lines at the 911 call center which receives both emergency and non-emergency calls for service from St. Bernard Parish residents.

While the 911 center was able to receive some emergency calls, the service provider could not confirm that all calls to 911 were being received. In addition, no calls were being received through the non-emergency line.

The Sheriff’s Office offered three alternative numbers for the public to use throughout the duration of the incident until repairs to the phone system were successfully made by the service provider.
