The reward for information leading to the safe return of Fannie Mae, the 17-year-old white Toy Poodle stolen during a vehicle theft earlier this week, has been increased to $2,000, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

SBSO needs the public’s help to find Fannie Mae and bring her back to her family.

Fannie Mae was said to have been left in the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans.

If you’ve seen her or have any information, please contact the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office at (504) 271-2501 or Crimestoppers GNO at (504) 822-1111. You can remain anonymous.

Fannie Mae was inside her owner’s car when it was stolen Monday in Chalmette. The vehicle was later found abandoned in New Orleans, but Fannie Mae is still missing.

The suspect, Shanda Norton, has been arrested and is currently in custody. She was booked with theft of a motor vehicle, vandalism, theft of the dog and cruelty to animals.
