NATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK

This week, we proudly recognize National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week — a time to honor the unseen heroes behind the headset.

This week was initially established in 1981 and has grown to be a widely recognized and celebrated event each year during the second week of April. This year, we celebrate from April 13 through 19.

Our 9-1-1 dispatchers are the true first, first responders. They are the calm voice on the other end of the line in times of chaos, the steady hand guiding help to where it’s needed most, and the critical link between the community and emergency services.

While they may not be seen on the front lines, their role is absolutely vital. They gather key information, offer life-saving instructions, and coordinate with deputies, firefighters, and EMS to ensure the fastest and most accurate response.

We celebrate this week to show our deep appreciation for their tireless dedication, and unwavering commitment to “Keeping St. Bernard Safe.”
