MARK YOUR CALENDAR: SBSO TO HOLD JOB FAIR APRIL 9

Have you ever wondered what a career in law enforcement might be like? Are you looking for a rewarding job that allows you to make a difference in your community?

If so, mark your calendar to stop by the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office Job Fair on Wednesday, April 9 from 3 to 7 p.m. in front of the Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center, 8245 W. Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette, on the Jean Lafitte Parkway side.

The SBSO Job Fair will offer job seekers the opportunity to meet deputies from our Special Operations Division and see what the Sheriff’s Office has to offer.

Prospective employees will be able to submit applications on site, and must bring a copy of the following documents to the event: (copies can be made on site, if needed)

⭐High school diploma or G.E.D.
⭐Driver’s license
⭐Social Security Card
⭐Birth Certificate
⭐DD 214 (Veterans only)
⭐POST Certificate (if applicable)

The Sheriff’s Office offers a diverse range of career opportunities, including positions in Corrections, Patrol and Communications, while providing comprehensive benefits packages with competitive salaries, starting at $45,200, with an increase to $52,400 with state pay after 1 year.

Visitors to the Job Fair will hear first-hand from deputies how a career in law enforcement allows you to serve and protect the local community and make a positive impact on people’s lives, as well providing avenues for personal growth and leadership opportunities.

Sgt. Brian Canepa, SBSO’s recruiter, will be on hand to provide information on how to apply, what qualifications are required, and answer specific questions about the application process.

There also will be state-of-the-art equipment on display, including the Mobile Command Post and armored vehicle.
