Lower Algiers-Chalmette Ferry service will be suspended on Tuesday (Dec. 10) while the Thomas Jefferson vessel undergoes a U.S. Coast Guard-mandated, quarterly inspection. That morning, the ferry will go into service as scheduled at 6 a.m. but will be taken out of service from approximately 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Service will resume immediately after the end of the examination and upon USCG clearance. We will keep you updated on the resumption of service.
