St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office is here to help you celebrate the holidays safely!
Sheriff James Pohlmann wishes everyone a happy and joyous holiday season and reminds residents that if you’ve had too much to drink, we’re just a call away.
📅 Program Dates: Thursday, Nov. 28 (Thanksgiving Day) through Jan. 2

Through our Holiday Ride Home program, a deputy will provide a free, safe ride home – no questions asked.
⭐ How it works:
➡️ We’ll take you to your home in St. Bernard Parish.
➡️ If you live outside the parish, we’ll bring you to a Sheriff’s substation where a friend or family member can pick you up.
➡️ Note: We won’t transport you to bars, nightclubs, or other parties.
🚨 Why it matters❓
“This program could save your life or the life of someone else,” Sheriff Pohlmann said. “If you’re impaired, don’t risk driving – call us instead.”
Started in 1986, this program was the first of its kind in the New Orleans area. Each year, it helps about two dozen residents make it home safely.
