GREEN BRIDGE CLOSURE

According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) the LA 47 (Paris Road) Green Bridge will be fully closed during two separate weekends in November, weather permitting.

These closures are necessary for crews to perform structural rehabilitation work associated with the $45 million restoration project.

The Green Bridge will be fully closed:

🚧from 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1 through 5 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4

🚧 from 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 through 5 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18

🚫No traffic will be allowed to pass over the bridge during the closure.

During the closures, motorists wanting to travel northbound on LA 47 to I-510 will be detoured to LA 39, Elysian Fields, I-10, and back to I-510.

Motorists wanting to travel southbound on I-510 to LA 47 will be detoured to I-10, Elysian Fields, LA 39, and back to LA 47.

DOTD says more than 70% of the project has been completed, and full completion is scheduled for spring 2025. Cleaning, painting, and structural rehabilitation of the north and south steel approach spans have been completed. Repairs to the concrete substructure and bridge deck have been completed.

Ongoing work includes cleaning, painting, structural rehabilitation, and navigational lighting installation of the main truss.
