DOTD announces upcoming I-10 & I-610 closures in Orleans Parish

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces an upcoming closure of I-10 and I-610 in New Orleans.

The total interstate closure will take place on Sunday, August 16 from 1:00 am – 6:00 am. I-10 westbound will be closed at US 90 (Chef Menteur Highway), Exit 240B. I-10 eastbound will be closed at Elysian Fields Ave, Exit 237. I-610 eastbound will be closed at Elysian Fields Avenue, Exit 3.

In addition, the I-10 entrance ramps at Downman Road, Louisa Avenue, Franklin Avenue and the I-610 eastbound entrance ramp at Elysian Fields will be closed beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15.

The closure is required for Entergy to remove overhead power lines at the I-10/I-610 Interchange at Franklin Avenue.
