CORRECTION: FERRY CLOSED
The DOTD has closed the Chalmette Ferry, NOT the Paris Road bridge as the DOTD previously reported.

St. Bernard Parish, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the immediate closure of the Chalmette Ferry.
This afternoon, a DOTD inspection found structural deficiencies in the Ferry’s landing bridge resulting in unsafe driving conditions.
The FERRY is closed until further notice; however, DOTD crews are already surveying the damage.
