Parish President Louis Pomes is providing an update on the steps our departments are taking ahead of the potential severe weather event expected to impact our area including sandbag distribution locations which will be available by 2pm today.

Our crews are actively preparing equipment, monitoring conditions, and working to ensure we’re ready to respond if needed. We encourage all residents to take this time to review their emergency plans, secure loose outdoor items, and stay informed as conditions evolve.

Residents who live outside of our hurricane protection system in the lower part of St. Bernard Parish and have assets such as boats, equipment, or other valuable property should consider moving them inside the levee protection system before weather conditions begin to deteriorate.
